A Sonnet to Leaving

As love lies listless, broken and tender,
My heart has been beaten and torn.
It waits for the strength of my soul to re-enter,
It waits on the power of love reborn.

Little did I want, not much did I know,
The pain and the damage of leaving.
A cold northern wind, a power blow,
Standing alone and grieving.

Would that I could and make it to change,
Binding together the life that is broken,
Giving it back for my heart to arrange,
Wishing the words that were said were unspoken.

This loss is forever and I am alone.
From now to etern, I am but gone.
